When I originally commented I clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox now when a comment is added I get four emails with the exact same comment. Is there any method for you to remove me from that service? Thanks!

I'm bumping this because this anime deserves a hell of a lot more attention. Planetes is my favorite anime to date, and it beats the crap out of that POS about the robot assassin on a planet of robots who are all dying because they can't figure out how to get some WD40 or CLP. It has the typical drama aspects of modern Japanese stories, but it is the most realistic sci fi I have seen in a while, and it is just beautifully done. The only realism issue is that the guys doing space walks don't make as much money as the traffic controllers; that's a bunch of bull mess, but is conceivable in an age of international governments. The characters are completely believable, even the Lunies who call themselves ninjas in that one episode, and the series as a whole doesn't harsh my Heinlein vibe. I particularly enjoy that the writers didn't decide to preach about Western religion without ever picking up a Bible. Episode 12 I think is the most realistic statement about environmental wackos I've seen in ANY modern TV, even if it went overboard in its depiction of smokers. THE ENGLISH IS FINE in the dubbed version, and I prefer not to hear Russians and South Americans speaking with squealing voices anyway. The grammar is a heck of a lot better than what I see from the average college graduate in CA, and beats the pants off the crap I hear and read from most of the self proclaimed "intellectuals" of this day. I would like to see the US pretender in chief speak so well. I personally use some of the phrases that were technically incorrect by olde English standards; it's called AMERICAN. If you spend 30 seconds listening to anybody in CA you will gain a new appreciation for those who at least TRY to be literate. Also, the phrase is "how copy" not "do you copy," but this may be different for Japanese military, and I know from experience that even US Air Force isn't too hot on proper radio communication.
